Big open quotation mark I would like to thank you for the great day I had on your Stride course for Developing Play Skills for Pupils with Learning Difficulties and Supporting Pupils with Challenging Behaviour. I am a senior manager at a school in Basildon for pupils with severe learning difficulties, and I have worked at the same school now for eighteen years. All this time I have been aware that there is very little really good, appropriate, inservice training for teachers and learning support assistants. There are Diploma Courses but they are few and far between and require a great deal of commitment. There has been a need for the practical, yet very specific, courses that you now have on offer.

As soon as I first saw your advertisment I felt that this was what was needed. Elmbrook School, where I teach, is about to move into a period of change, in the next year or two we are going to be amalgamating with another special school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Soon we will be working with staff who are wanting to find out, in a hurry, ways forward for working with our kind of pupils. I think 'Stride' will be very useful to us.

I wanted to come on a course to 'sound you out' as it were, and I was very impressed with the depth of background and experience that you both bought to the training. Between you you seemed to have knowledge of all the different approaches and methods that are around now and have been around over the years. You were able to recommend books to cover any interest in the field. You truly had an answer for everything. The course itself was packed with insights and ideas that could be put into practice straight away. You made us all plan some changes that we could put into practice straight away on getting back to school. All the talk was supported with good easy read handouts for everything that was covered. What's more, the cost of the course was very reasonable. There were no expensive gimmicks just you two and your knowledge and your easy, friendly style of delivery. The venue was excellent. That high room in Westminster City Hall with it's panoramic view over London was memorable. The food was good too, and plenty of it. I shall definately be recommending Stride courses to any one at my school who is wanting to come on a course, and may be to some who don't yet realise that they want to! Thanks again. Big close quotation mark

Graci Dale, Senior Manager, Elmbrook School, Basildon.
